Pay on call out.
This will usually be the cheapest breakdown cover
and has two main differences from a standard policy.
1. The breakdown comapny will not have it's own patrols, instead they recruit local breakdown services.
2. You will have to pay the local service when you use them, then reclaim the money by sending any receipts to the insurance company.
If you don't have the cash to pay when you breakdown then the insurance company will ensure the local provider either takes credit/debit card
payment or will invoice you latter.
Deciding which type of cover.
Both options will give the level of cover you require and both claim the
same call out times (about 40 minutes) The only real deciding factor is
price and level of convenience. If you want a hassle free service then
you should opt for one of the major breakdown providers, however, if you
are prepared to deal with local operators and don't mind paying when you
use the service then reclaiming the money later, then pay on call out
could be for you.
